When I created the digital version of Nova starting from the paper drawing it was perhaps my first real attempt to create a vectorial graffito. I was still experimenting and learning how to use vectorial and still looking for the best way to transform into a vectorial an hand-made drawing on paper. Having the possibility to use Colors 3D for Nintendo 3DS, which in many ways works like a mini graphics tablet, I decided to reproduce digitally the drawing by tracing the outlines by hand from a photo.
From here I then worked digitally, transforming everything into vectorial, a method that I now find a bit approximate, now I prefer to recreate in vectorial, and not directly transform the original drawing, to have greater precision. I then recreated the various elements from the fill to the outline, directly in vectorial.

Then I moved on to something more complex, with shades and effects, as you can see in Nova’s black and white versions.
After taking a photo of the pencil’s drawing outlines, and before starting to create the digital version, I finished my Nova paper version, but with some stylistic differences.
