Nova 107 Pizza Dressing

I created Nova 107 Pizza because I like to experiment with vector graphics and photographs, looking for graphics that somehow fit the subject of the photo or vice versa.

Some time ago I took a photo of a pizza (real Neapolitan pizza) before eating it, just to joke with friends who could not eat it at that moment not being in Naples, and I thought that an old draft that I had recently vectorized could have been fine, the rounded and rounded shapes seemed perfect. The result was satisfactory, in fact, at least for me, you can see it below.

As I said, I combined the photo I took of a real Neapolitan pizza with my Nova 107 Bombing.

To get to the final result, however, it is not enough to overlay the drawing on the photo, the process is more complex, but by now I have tested and learned it properly (or perhaps invented?) With previous works.

First of all I choose the key colors of the photo, in this case I chose the typical colors of the basic ingredients of a margherita pizza, the color of the cooked dough, the tomato sauce, the basil and the burnt color of cooking in a wood oven.

After choosing the colors, I alter the coloring of the photo, making sure not only that the color is right, but that the light and dark colors are also in line with the desired color, and also that the color is right in the parts of the photo that I’ll need later. Here, for example, are the various photos with the colors that seemed to me the most suitable for the purpose:

Once I have the perfect color, I use the altered photo to overlay it on the vector element of my drawing by creating a mask, and finally overlay all the elements again by recombining the photo again. And here is the final result:
